Tails from the drawing room

No, I haven't got a drawing room, I'm not posh enough, but I have got a room that I draw in, so I suppose that could be called my drawing room! :)

Most of the things I draw have tails, hence the *tails* in the title.  :)

I love all animals, so they are a constant source of inspiration and ideas. They tend not to stay still for very long though, so although it's good to draw from life if you can, it's also great to draw from photos.

Here are a few things I've drawn recently:

A fox. Beautiful creatures trying to survive in a world we have taken over. I hear them calling every January in the nights.

A puffin. Cute and colourful and now sadly endangered as well. This is the preliminary drawing I did for the painting I showed in an earlier post.

A cat. (Mine actually :) ) Characteristically having a nap. How they manage to breathe with their faces flat down on the blanket is beyond me!

A fennec fox from Africa (I think! I'll check that.) Love the big ears.

Finally, she hasn't got a tail, but this is Madame Vastra from Doctor Who. I know she's not technically an animal, but she's a kind of humanoid animal and I wanted to draw her anyway! :)

I'm planning to paint some of these, as I did with the puffin, so I'll post them when they're done.

I hope you're having a good 2016 so far. The rain has been endless here, apart from a few days of sunshine here and there, which was beautiful. My daffodils and irises are already flowering though! Very early.

Hope you liked these. More soon....
